install SQL-Developer jdbc drivers
One of the benefits of this tool is that you can add any JDBC driver to connect to any database.
To do this, open the presettings and add the JDBC-Connector JAR like in the picture below.
Now if you create a new DB connection you can choose the database you want to connect to. In this case i added the mysql connector jar.
